... and there was no sunrise. (Angkor day 2)

Today we got up a bit early (4 30) and around 5 o'clock we were on our way to see the sunrise at Angkor Wat. Unfortunately the weather sucked so badly, that we got stuck in heavy rain without ever seeing the 'light' :) Nevertheless we continued our visit in Angkor temples and saw even more than yesterday. Today's sights were quite breathtaking especially since they were not that crowded. We met some cute looking kids with only one word on their mouths :'one dollar, sir'. Take a look at some photos:

Today was also a bug day. lots of disgusting things were all over the place and sonia was running around like crazy person when she saw the spiders hat were big like our hands. enjoy! ;)

more photos from today ;)

Following Lara Croft ;) (Angkor day 1)

Hello there!
Today we visited Angkor temples, near the city we live in. This is one of the main points of our journey. They are quite astonishing and it's hard to believe that they were built about 900years ago. To get there we took a ''tuk tuk'' (a kind of rikshaw) and drove around several temples, including Angkor Wat and another one where the first Tomb Raider movie was shot. The tickets for two days were 40$ per person but I guess it's worth the price. Tomorrow we're going back there to see the sunrise and some more distant temples. We're a bit hungry now but a heavy monsoon is stopping us from leaving the hotel. cheers! ;) (I'll try to upload more photos later, but the internet sucks here so I can't promise anything)

Rainy beginning.

Hi. After a long trip we finally got to Cambodia. Currently we are in Siem Reap and tomorrow we'll be visiting Angkor Wat ;) We're planning to stay there form two days. The trip from Bangkok to Siem Reap was quite convoluted because we had to take a bus then a taxi then walk through the border on feet, and than another bus and yet another one to the city. The weather is surprisingly pleasant now, but on the road we experienced our first monsoon, and we were quite amazed to see that much water and wind at once. On the bus we met lots of tourists our age from all over the world so apparently trips to this part of the globe are quite popular. I guess that'll be all for now, I can only say that Cuttle Fish Chips (squid flavour) are not the best thing we've tasted so far. Yellow Noodles with chicken however, were really tasty. We'll see about it tomorrow in the bathroom :) And now time for some photos :) enjoy!

The day has come

OK! So the departure day has come. We are all quite anxious. Jasiu is doing some final shopping - he forgot his moneybelt in Rybnik yesterday. He is also supposed to buy some absolutely crucial things like toilet paper:) - based on our India trip experience - it is quite an essential thing. Anyway, today at 18:55 we depart from Krakow to Frankfurt, then around 23:00 to Doha. We should be in Qatar around 5:10 Warsaw time. Two hours later we depart towards Bangkok - arrival time around 14:00 Warsaw time. We hope the flights will be more or less on time. So we are looking forward to our trip - and expect the unexpected. Follow our blog if you are interested in the news about the trip. Cheers!

We're leaving soon!

Hello again!
Time's running fast and we're leaving in a week. Me and Sonia managed to pass all our exams, and Paweł came back from Switzerland yesterday, so we're more or less ready and definitely very excited! For now we're slowly preparing the things we have to bring along, and collecting as much information as we can, about the places we'll visit, to know what to see, what to miss and what to expect. But I guess this trip we'll be even more spontaneous than the last one. As the travellers say we have to "expect the unexpected!"
All we know is that we're flying from Krakow to Germany, then Qatar and then to Thailand. Our itinerary is not ready at all yet, but it is slowly emerging in our heads. For sure, we'll start from Bangkok and go to Cambodia, then Vietnam and last but not least - Laos (as you see it's a bit of a mystery for us), in the end we'll spend a few days in Bangkok. This is all that we know for now, and we will surely work out the details as we go.
Here's a map:
I guess it's all for now. follow us regularly!
